Mauritius

Mauritius is 800 km. east of Madagascar, and is an island full of exotic surprise. Not only beautiful beaches, but forested tropical interior and mountains.

Tourist attractions include Pamplemousse Botanical Gardens, Black River Gorges National Park and Ile Aux Cerfs lagoon. Port Louis, the islands capital, is a vibrant cultural mix reflecting colonial past with 21st century development.

Mon Choisy

Mon Choisy beach is a two mile long white sand curve protected by a coral reef. It is shaded by a Casuarina forest its entire length, much of the beach has dramatic mountain views. Beautiful varied coastal walks stretch for miles in either direction, the islands main tourist town Grand Baie is 3km to the north, Trou Aux Biches just to the south.

Mon Choisy is perfect for relaxing, swimming and water sports. Glass bottom boats go out to the reef. The ambience of beach and forest flows through the district, diving facilities, tourist submarine, marlin fishing trips, car and bike hire are available. Bus routes, bank, shops, cafes, hotels, restaurants, casino and golf course are here too.

Climate

Mon Choisy has the most consistently warm climate on the island. December to April, temperatures are 25-35 degrees centigrade; from May to November range from 20-30 degrees centigrade. February may have anti cyclonic periods, otherwise climate is good all year round.
